Greetings from sunny California!
Here's me in a snapshot:
~14 years' experience Directing; Prepping/ Researching; and Proofing Audiobooks;
~5 years Social Media Content Manager, Podcast Producer & Publishing Project Manager;
~30+ years' experience In Nonprofit Writing, Editing, Special Events, Public Relations, Media Relations; Marketing;
~7 years' experience as Virtual Assistant
Since 2007, I've been directing, proofing and researching audiobooks. I've also spent the last several years doing a variety of virtual, freelance jobs: Project Manager and Social Media Manager for a boutique self-publishing company; Executive Producer for two internet Podcasts; and freelance market and business data researcher.
I relocated to Southern California from Michigan in 2010. Prior to that, I was the Office Manager for two years at a vibrant, urban performing arts center in Grand Rapids, MI, in addition to my audiobook work.
I am in the entertainment business – a performer – so I am responsible for all of my own administrative work, promotional materials, bookings, social media, press, contracts and paper work. I can handle all aspects of most projects!
I also have 30+ years’ experience doing special events, public relations, fundraising, media relations and marketing for nonprofit organizations; and 10 years’ teaching at the University level. In addition, I have been directing and teaching children's theatre since 1989.
What makes me unique and sought-after is that I love the challenge of daily variety and multi-tasking, and am innovative and creative in my approach to any position I have. I need no hand-holding and am highly capable of doing just about anything I set my mind to (once given the parameters/instruction). I'm dogged in my research and quality assurance and get results in a timely manner.
